The Lowdown: 2024 Was the Foundation

The Lowdown: 2024 Was the Foundation

We opened in June. But the vision started earlier.

Prohibition THCafe did not begin with a ribbon cutting.

It began with a movement. Support Your Local Weed Man built the awareness. 2024 was when we turned that awareness into a physical space.

Four walls. A menu. A counter.

But more importantly, a room designed to feel intentional.

From opening day to community nights

Opening month was about introducing the concept.

Education first.
Clear dosing.
Conversation before transaction.

But the shift happened when the space started filling with events.

The room stopped being just a café.

It became a gathering point.

Puff and Paint Halloween Edition

By October, we were not just operating.

We were activating.

Art. Watch party. THC. Friends.

Guests showed up in costume. The energy felt familiar. Chicago familiar.

That night was proof that Prohibition was not just a place to buy something.

It was a place to be somewhere.

The people made it real

You can build a concept.

But the community decides whether it lives.

Seeing guests laugh, dress up, return with friends, and treat the café like their own space confirmed something important:

This was not temporary curiosity.

It was traction.

What we learned in year one

Opening in June meant learning in real time.

We refined how we explained infusions.
We clarified promotions.
We strengthened how staff talked through dosing.
We improved event structure.

We did not hide mistakes.

We corrected them.

That transparency built loyalty faster than perfection ever could.

2024 proved the model works

By the end of the year, something was clear.

Prohibition THCafe is not just about products.

It is about:

Education that removes confusion
Culture that feels authentic
Events that feel intentional
Community that returns

The foundation is built.

Now we expand.

Adults 21+ only. Educational content, not medical advice. Do not mix with alcohol or other substances. Do not drive or operate machinery while using THC. Effects vary by person and product.
